On Sunday, the group dubbed as “Hackers of Morocco” infiltrated the official Egyptian government’s Facebook page and posted a photo of the Rabaa sign.
“Long live Egypt…greetings from Hackers of Morocco,” they wrote.
The hackers also closed the page, which had more than 1,900,000 likes.
The cabinet declared that “activities on the current official page on Facebook have been suspended temporarily.” Officials cited technical reasons.
“A new official page has been created called Cabinet-Egypt,” the cabinet noted.
